Quotas for

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the Decree № 148-r of February 24, 2021 "On establishing an immigration quota for 2021". 

Within the established quota, Ukrainian IT companies are able to employ additional 5,000 qualified IT specialists on a permanent basis.

Specialists employed within the quota will receive a permanent residence permit, which significantly simplifies lives of such foreign workers in Ukraine.

What to do?

Step 1.
Preparation

Collect a package of documents. To do this, you can actively involve a company that invites you to work in Ukraine. The company's lawyers can receive comprehensive consultations and practical assistance in the territorial division of the State Migration Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

In addition, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has the opportunity to formally support such an application for an immigration permit. The list of documents and additional information is available on the official website of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

Step 2.
Submission of documents for obtaining an immigration permit

A foreigner who is legally on the territory of Ukraine, personally applies with an application and a package of documents to the territorial division of the State Migration Service of Ukraine at their  place of residence.

A foreigner who is abroad applies to the consular office of Ukraine in the country of their  citizenship or legal residence.

Step 3.
Verification of the applicant's file

In accordance with the current legislation, the the State Migration Service of Ukraine conducts an inspection of a foreigner in order to make a decision on granting or refusing to grant an immigration permit. As a rule, the term of consideration of the dossier and verification takes about 3-4 months, in some, "difficult" cases - up to one year. An immigration permit is valid for one year from the date of issue.

Step 4.
Submission of documents for obtaining a permanent residence permit

A foreigner who is legally in Ukraine and has received an immigration permit applies to the relevant territorial division of the State Migration Service of Ukraine with a request for a permanent residence permit. The State Migration Service of Ukraine requires not more than 15 working days to review the documents.

A foreigner who is abroad applies to the relevant consular office of Ukraine for a visa (if necessary).

Step 5.
Obtaining a permanent residence permit

The foreigner personally appears in the relevant territorial division of the LCA, where after completing the necessary procedures he receives a permanent residence permit. The procedure takes less than one working day.

Step 6.
Residence registration

Upon receipt of a permanent residence permit, the foreigner is obliged to register his / her place of residence within 30 days.
